A case of water hammer can certainly be troublesome if left unattended because it can damage the pipe connection and result to leakage. Here’s another way to fix it: you can try adding a water hammer arrestor or noise suppression device. It is designed to contain the air pressure of the air chamber, thus preventing water hammers from occurring.

There's noise coming from your plumbing pipes? Now, that’s a problem. It is important that you check on it immediately even if it’s just a small problem. If left unattended, this will become a bigger problem, a bigger headache, and a lot more expensive. Let an expert examine your pipes to help diagnose what’s going on with your pipes.

Bibi is right. Adding water hammer and noise suppression device in your faucet or pipe valve would reduce the chance of producing a hammering sound or noise, whenever you turn off your faucet. Well, adding some fittings to the pipes would certainly help avoid leaks to occur when you turn off a high-pressured faucet.
